The Orangutan Land Trust donate £500 to the Murung Raya Expedition

The OLT works to “provide permanent solutions for the long-term survival of the orangutan in the wild by ensuring safe areas of land for their continued existence.”

We are really pleased to have the OLT support our work to research as yet unexplored areas of rainforest where suitable release sites for orangutans may be found.

OLT President, Lone Droscher-Nielson:

“Securing safe forest habitat is the single-most important thing we can do to save the orangutan from extinction.”

Our research area is under threat from illegal logging and mining concessions. By establishing high biodiversity and the presence of rare and protected species in the area we can help to protect it as a natural, pristine habitat.
