The Team Make the Final Push to Establish Camp Foyle
After 3 weeks of navigating customs, immigration, market stalls, logging roads, remote villages and shallow rivers in small wooden boats, the Murung Raya Expedition team made the final push to Camp Foyle. The move from Tumbang Tohan, the last village in the area, took 3 days and around 20 boat trips. Camp Foyle is now established half way up the Mohot River, in an area of rainforest of outstanding quality, against the bank of the river, with a small sandy beach to bathe from.

The riverine forest looks so inviting. Well worth the struggle of getting there. So much nicer than being stuck in Britain’s wintery wasteland. It will certainly be a Christmas to remember. Enjoy the forest festivities.
